Paraphrasing Starobinski and his “retrato del artista como saltimbanqui” I would like to propose to the participants to work a strange choreography material, in order to produce “hyperbolic and voluntarily deforming images of themselves” and that each one make a «transvestite self-portrait». For this, each participant must provide an audiovisual document or a written document, which implies movement, we will start from a body work as a receptacle, an attempt to unlearn our habits and towards an opening to the most diverse bodily practices.
Marta Izquierdo Muñoz
Born in Madrid in 1972. She studied Psychology and dance in Madrid where she began her first professional experiences alternating dances in discos, in Spanish television and in contemporary dance companies. In 2001 and until 2007 he will work in France at the National Choreographic Center of Rennes and Brittany under the direction of Catherine Diverrès, as well as with François Verret.
He has directed his own projects since 2007 within the company [Lodudo] production: She’s mine (Avignon Festival 2008), Walking on thin ice (Mettre Festival in Scène 2008). Scholarship by Culturesfrance Hors-les-Murs in Japan, she creates Red with Norico Sunayama and then Sirène (Festival Antipodes 2009 and 2010, Brest). His last two artistic projects have in common a rudimentary and archaic object, the stick: Practice Makes Perfect (2017) around traditional Catalan and Provencal dances and IMAGO-GO (2018) on the figure of the majorette and the loisirs practices in community.
IMAGO-GO is also the first part of a Triptico around marginal female communities. GUÉRILLÈRES (creation 2021) will be the second part and ROLL (creation 2022) around wheel sports, the last.
Marta Izquierdo Munoz, holder of the Diplôme d’Etat in dance, conceives her pedagogical activities as an extension of her creation work by proposing for a dozen years workshops for professional dancers (Extensions), art schools (ESA Quimper, ESAD Reims ) art faculties and shows (University of Rennes 2 and Lyon 2) public school (maternal and institute) or non-professional public, with the Louvre Museum and the Chorégraphiques Rencontres de Seine et St Denis, the CHU of Toulouse and the Center of Développement chorégraphique de Toulouse.
She has been a companion du Manège de Reims SN pour 2018/19 artist and is an artist associated with the animal in l’esquena (Celrà-Gerona).
