The international festival of dance and movement DANZALAVA has been taken place in Álava since 2017. It is organized by Zuriñe Benavente and Ignacio Monterrubio (Altraste Danza), with the sponsorship of the Basque Government, the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council, the Álava Provincial Council and the Vital Foundation, together with the collaboration of different associations and institutions in the province.

Throughout the year there are workshops, performances, public awareness shows and creation laboratories around composition in real time, improvisation and research in movement, with headquarters at the Basque Art Museum-Center Contemporary Artium in Vitoria-Gasteiz and in Garaion Sorgingunea in Ozaeta (Álava).

Artists such as Meg Stuart, Mark Tompkins, Katie Duck, Vera Mantero, Mónica Valenciano, María Muñoz, Txubio Fernández de Jáuregui, Idoia Zabaleta, Julyen Hamilton, Florence Augendre, Jeremy Wade, Mala Kline, Guillermo Weickert, Oscar Gómez Mata, María Cabeza de Vaca, Amalia Fernández, Daniel Abreu, Mónica García, Victoria P. Miranda, Philipp Gehmacher, Iñaki Azpillaga, Thomas Hauert, Federica Porello, Agostina D´alessandro, Tania Arias Winogradow, Marta Izquierdo or Zuriñe Benavente have participated in the festival.
