WORKSHOP PRESENTATION
Throughout history, all civilizations have referred to the mineral, the aquatic, the earthy and aerial as being part of the living world. In this three-days workshop, we will explore the notion of the elements that is at the heart of our physiology and our environment.
In order to contact, revisit and empower what is essentially original and singular in each of us, we will practice Fasciapulsology into Dance, and confront through the presence of our bodies and their imagery, the subtleties of sensory perceptions and their modalities.
As a way to enhance conscious and connect with the essence of matter that shapes and forms, we will process and configure ways to translate the profoundness of experience in presence, physical movement and humankind.
The workshop is open to any person interested in the body-knowledge, physical creativity and collective awareness.
Creating a poetic space as an invitation to meet, contact, resonate and reflect.
Weaving a language of dance, based on a constant negotiation with our own self and echoing our constant negotiation with each other.
BIOGRAPHY
Florence Augendre (FR/BE) is an independent choreographic artist, author, researcher, performer who has developed her work in various artistic fields such as theater, cinema, contemporary dance, opera and visual fine-arts.
In her work, Florence engages creativity as the revealing of one’s own experience and creates metaphors where the body qualities and the imaginary converge in the experience of the deep self and our human physical constitution. Inviting the vitality of singular experiences, her work reveals multiple aspects of conscious and their complementing expressiveness. At the heart of our physiology in relation to our environment, how do we meet the subtleties of sensory perceptions and their modalities ? How do we also meet the energy of the animal, its expressive and yet silent presence ? How the non-tangible shapes and forms itself into motion ?
Along side, she completed her education in Body-Mind Centering(R) as a certificated practitioner of Fasciapulsology (IFCC-Christian Carini), and is studying with Catherine Shainberg (School of Images, Saphire™).
Among her various artistic collaborations, we can name: Wim Vandekeybus, Meg Stuart, David Hernandez, Inneke van Waeyenberghe, Labor GRAS, Johanne Saunier/Jim Clayburgh, Brice Leroux, Lance Gries (N.Y.), Steve Paxton, Lisa Nelson, Label Cedana, Olga de Soto, Fabrice Ramalingom, Félicette Chazerand, Koen Augustijnen, Les Ballets C de la B, Michèle Noiret, François Brice, Quanta Art, collective Les Inéluctables, Belgium team documentary collective IDOCDE.
Most recently, she has been collaborating with Estonian rock band Hello Killu, musician Guillaume Le Boisselier & choreographer Maria Eugenia Lopez (FR/BE), musician Rajivan Ayyappan & choreographer Emanuela Iacopini (IT/LUX), PhD philosopher and dance artist Mala Kline (SLO), singer physical-theater performer Adriana Josipovic (HR), and linguistic researcher from University LLN (BE) Jacqueline Pairon.
In April 2019, she launched a co-creation and performed “Interstitial ” together with composer/musician Roman Golovko and visual artist Antonin De Bemels for the MOMa and CDR Teatr in Moscow (Russia).
Florence also leads teaching & collective practice labs in diverse organizations and institutions throughout Europe, and takes part in broadcasting various artistic collaborations.

“Introduction to connective tissues
In the anatomical and physiological realm of the body, the connective tissue is a membranous network that supports the transmission of physical forces and maintains the balance of the vital functions.
It can also be perceived and understood as a fluid substantial stream, running through all the territories and layers of the body, creating and assuring its unity.
Each of the bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, organs, nerves and vessels, has its own membranous protection. And all of those membranes bridge to form the network that supports its communication.
We all experience its deep, subtle, colorful presence, without necessarily being aware of it.
Like a secret code river, it requires an attentive and fine listening to be accessed.
As an application of our research, the main focus of the practice and work is about learning to tune to the fine listening that enables to recognize the different textures and territories of the body. And by practicing this listening, we progressively integrate how this innate inner communication supports our physical motion and expressiveness.”
“Fasciapulsology into Dance
Originally, Fasciapulsology is a manual therapy implying a soft and deep touch to ease up the releasing of tensions in the connective tissue layer, facilitating its global mobility and harmonizing its pulsations.
Since the moment of conception, our cells form, reproduce, differentiate and organize themselves to create space, the body-space as part of the constitution of the being. The way the cells go about it, move and form is very specific. It follows a polarization that obeys to the laws of life forces such as gravity/anti-gravity combined to the qualities of primary elements as water, fire, air and earth.
The formation of cells into fibers, and fibers into tissues, can only occur according to frequencies of life-span momentum and their articulation of rhythms.
How all of this transformative and constant pace finds and vitalizes its coherence is recognizable as the symphony of the body.
Through this contingency, we process and learn to contact touch from that specific perspective. Opening our senses and perceptions to our deep inner rhythms, we explore the diverse qualities of density that can be experienced within the body, and how through dancing our body inner space-motion, we contact and ‘intra-act’ the echoes of the outer environment.”
“Nature of Touch
Touch is spontaneously comprehended and apprehended as one of the diverse senses of the Body. A sense provided by the sensory organ mostly and more generally recognized by SKIN. The content of the Skinesphere determines the boundaries /or limits of the being (from what is INNER to what is OUTER), and the expansive quality of its flexible texture.
Right under the derm of Skin is the very first layer of recognizable connective tissue called Superficialis. As its name indicates, the -Superficialis Fascia- lays right at the superficial embracing peripheral under-Derm, to provide constant motioning in all possible directions and elastic quality of a never tired rubber-band, condensing, flexing and expanding.
Skin also provides the perception of silky caress of air breezing, as the body moves globally and freely through space.
Skin is known to be the largest and widest organ of all the visceral system. Its flexibility requires its optimum liveness and a good hydration. We know as well, that skin finds its origin in the same embryonic layer-Derm of Nervous tissue.
Per say, if Touch is one of the senses among vision, hearing, smelling and taste. It is the only sensory organ processor that we can not live without. Vision, hearing, smelling and taste could be diminished in their function and functionality, balance would still be operating. But touch is vital to our survival.
It means that Touch is a deep and powerful sensory, activating and assuring the interfacing between and through all the other SENSES.
Therefore, the qualities of touch indicate and facilitate how we are open to space, reflecting or animating how we relate to touch, Air, floor, the others and TIME.”
